French-Lebanese architect and designer, Roula Akiki graduated with a master in architecture from the Lebanese Ecole des Beaux Arts A.L.B.A in 2004. Her final project ‘Centre de Couture’ captured the panel’s honors. During her collaborations with Lebanese firms, she develops several residential, commercial and mix-use projects essentially in the Gulf area and in Lebanon. In 2007 Roula moves to Paris to join the Ateliers Jean Nouvel where she takes part for over five years in different projects all over the world. 

Among various renowned projects, she participates in developing the prestigious project of the Louvre Abu Dhabi from concept design phase to execution phase. She is specifically in charge of the implementation and adaptation of the museographic program in close collaboration with Agence France-Muséums; as well as the technical coordination of the whole museum part with the British engineers BuroHappold.

She moves back in 2014 to Beirut after a valuable experience in Europe, and founds her own practice where she delivered several interior projects in Lebanon and Paris. She is currently designing a house in Kfardebian Lebanon. In 2017 Roula begins a collaboration with Karim Nader Studio in parallel to her practice, and develops for his office a villa in the Lebanese exclusive village of Faqra.

She is also an active member of the Arab Center for architecture ACA, documenting and raising awareness about modern architecture and urbanism within Lebanese civil society.



A seasoned executive with a strong educational background and over 20 years of international professional experience in real estate development, consultancy and academia. His strengths include project management, design and planning, operations, business development and client relationship management. In the UAE, Musfy worked at KEO International Consultants (leading large-scale projects such as the Dubai Expo Village), PLP Architecture as Senior Associate Partner, Bloom Properties as General Manager of Design and Planning (oversaw global projects worth USD 25 Billion), and at Saraya Development Group as GCC Head of Design and Construction.

Prior to moving to the UAE, Musfy worked for three of the most prestigious international architectural firms based out of New York. He started his career in architecture with Eisenman Architects in NY, led by the famous architect himself; he then ran his own practice in Beirut while teaching Architecture at the American University of Beirut for 8 years, followed by the American University of Sharjah for a year. Musfy returned to New York in 2003 to join Skidmore Owings & Merrill as Associate and then moved on to Perkins & Will as Senior Associate. Musfy holds a Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University. 



Richard received his Doctor of Engineering degree from Kyoto University, Japan (2011). He’s specialized in Architecture and Human Environmental Design & Semiotics, as well as Film Semiotics. He received his M. Arch. with Distinction from Université Saint Esprit de Kaslik (USEK), Lebanon (2006). 

Richard established himself professionally as Shiogumo in Beirut, Lebanon in 2012, and Birmingham, UK, as of 2019. Shiogumo is specialized in creating experience-rich, story-telling and human-centric architecture mainly in the form of social, cultural and institutional projects. Shiogumo’s most innovative project yet is the KAM, an archaeological museum and park in the South of Lebanon, commissioned by the country’s General Directorate of Antiquities and Ministry of Culture. When completed, the museum will be the first purpose-built, carbon neutral museum in Lebanon. 

His experience prior to establishing Shiogumo ranged from working on large scale developments with AREP Group (Paris), winning two international competitions with them, to detail-oriented bespoke lighting elements with PSLab (Beirut). 

In parallel to running Shiogumo, Richard has been successfully heading architectural and urban design studios since 2011 in universities in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Japan and Germany. He and his students have also won Third Place in a national urban design competition in Saudi Arabia. Richard also frequently conducts workshops training young professionals and graduate students to use his proprietary Extended Cinematics design process as well as producing sit-specific multimedia spatial interventions and installations. 

Richard is an active member of the Arab Center for Architecture, and a former member of the Architecture Institute of Japan.



French consultant and partner for Karim Nader Studio’s activities, Marc is also consultant for other firms in the immigration with Latitude Consultancy and the insurance fields (CTI Swiss) due to his various experiences that he has accumulated overseas during the past 10 years. Prior to joining Karim Nader Studio, Marc was also the Managing Director of Henley & Partners in Beirut (Lebanon) where he successfully assisted many wealthy individuals and their families in acquiring alternative residence and/or citizenship. 

Prior to his stay in Lebanon, Marc was based 7 years in Hong Kong as the Managing Partner of Swiss Insurance Partners (Hong Kong) Ltd, where he was responsible for its entire Asian operations. After completing his bachelor’s degree in a European Business School in France, he pursued his MBA in Australia with a specialization in Corporate Finance. 

Marc has built up a strong international network while working in different companies around the world, including the USA, the UK, Australia, Hong Kong and Lebanon. He has developed an extensive knowledge and a deep understanding of today’s globalized world and his broad international exposure has allowed him to deliver the best solutions for private clients interested in residence and citizenship planning.

Mazen Zayat is Business Developer who has partnered up with Karim Nader Studio to expand the firm’s work internationally. Mazen is on the run between Qatar, Kuwait, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and other GCC countries. After finishing his school days at the American Community School of Beirut, Mazen graduated from the Lebanese American University with a degree in Business Marketing. 

He began his career exploring different industries at a young age starting with Bankers Insurance, Hugo Boss Middle East moving on to being the Middle East Marketing Executive with SAP MENA and in parallel constantly consulting for companies in organizational structures and public relations. Operating a hospitality venture in the heart of Dubai, Mazen was part of Crown Concepts Group, a team who developed multiple restaurant concepts. Mazen was heading the operation with 200+ employees.

After moving back to Lebanon, he spent his time developing departments for varying types of businesses through intensive trainings, motivation and tailored guidelines. After getting in contact with the design world through Alta Light, a fast growing Lighting Solutions Company based in Beirut, Lebanon, Mazen was introduced to Karim Nader Studio after working together on several projects.
